QPR’s Andros Townsend scores golazo against Sunderland
QPR may have been absolutely woeful for most of the season, but it appears that their spending splurge in January may now be coming to fruition as they bid to remain in the Premier League.
They beat Sunderland on Saturday with all three goals coming from new signings Loic Remy, Andros Townsend and Jermaine Jenas to move closer to survival, but it was the second goal that really got the headlines.
Andros Townsend has not got much of a look in at Spurs with their current all-star midfield, but he scored his first goal for the Hoops with a wonderful dipping effort from 30 yards. When the ball was cleared from the penalty area, Townsend took it on his chest and volleyed in.
The ball actually went into the bottom corner such was the dip on the effort.
