Aston Villa striker Darren Bent smirks at talk of Newcastle move
Darren Bent told an Aston Villa supporter that he is likely to leave the club this summer – and gave a wry smile when Newcastle were mentioned.
The autograph hunter quizzed England international Bent as he drove away from Villa’s training ground.
Bent didn’t appear overly eager at the thought of joining Fulham, but when the Magpies were mentioned he smirked and said: “We’ll have to see.”
The striker has been out-of-favour since manager Paul Lambert took charge at Villa Park. He played second-fiddle to Christian Benteke for most of last season.
The sound quality isn’t great in parts of the video, but it sounds like Bent says: “I’ll be out of here, I’m sure, pretty soon.”
The fan asks: “You’re going out?”
Bent’s reply is again difficult to catch, but we reckon it’s: “I will be, yeah, eventually.”
