Spanish newspaper AS claim a Gareth Bale shirt has been found at Real Madrid
A shirt featuring Gareth Bale’s name and number has been found at the Bernabeu, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
In one of the more tenuous transfer rumours you’re likely to see this summer, the newspaper’s front page splash contains a suggestion that a ‘Bale – 11’ shirt has been found inside Real Madrid’s stadium. Last time we checked, club’s don’t generally mock up shirts for their transfer targets and then stash them somewhere in the stadium.
The newspaper reports that the club’s hierarchy had commissioned the personalised shirt.
Perhaps more believable is AS’s claim that the number 11 shirt has been reserved for Real. It seems likely that the Spanish giants will press to sign the Welshman at some point over the next couple of years, so it’s probably prudent from a marketing point of view to have his preferred shirt number available.
