Alvaro Negredo scores his first Manchester City goal against Bayern Munich
There is a great deal of pressure at a) being a £20million striker and b) tasked with leading your side to the Premier League title, and so Alvaro Negredo will be thankful for breaking his duck for Manchester City.
Negredo missed a few chances during his side’s defeat to Bayern Munich in the final of the Audi Cup in Germany, but eventually took probably his most difficult chance.
After a goalless first half, Negredo collected a through-ball from Samir Nasri and outpaced Javi Martinez impressively. Through on Manuel Neuer, the Spaniard clipped the ball past the goalkeeper and in via the post to give City the lead.
Unfortunately, Bayern staged a second half comeback to win the game 2-1.
