Gareth Bale signs shirts for Spurs team-mates as he says goodbye
Some Tottenham players got Gareth Bale to sign their shirts as they bid him an emotional farewell yesterday.
The squad jetted out to Monaco for today’s friendly. Bale didn’t join them, and the squad are not expecting to find him at the training ground upon their return. By that stage he will either be a Real Madrid player or, more likely, on the verge of becoming one.
Some of the Spurs players decided to get a memento of their time playing with a potential global superstar, with the goodbyes becoming an impromptu autograph session.
A club insider told The Sun: “Even boss Andre Villas-Boas wished Gareth well and one or two of the lads have got him to sign their shirts.
Several media reports suggest that all parties expect to have a deal finalised by early next week, but that remains dependent on Spurs chairman Daniel Levy getting the right combination of cash and players he wants.
