Spurs target Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen and Willian
Tottenham are planning a spending spree to convince Gareth Bale to stay at the club – or at least soften the blow of losing him.
Chairman Daniel Levy is preparing to make one final pitch to convince the Wales international to stay at the White Hart Lane. And he’s banking on a series of big signings showing his ambition for the club.
Top of the list of transfer targets are Roma’s Erik Lamela, Ajax’s Christian Eriksen and Anzhi’s Willian, reports the Daily Express.
Argentine winger Lamela would cost around £30m, Denmark international Eriksen is valued at £8m, while Spurs would go head-to-head with Liverpool for £30m-rated Willian.
Spurs have already spent more than £50m on Roberto Soldado, Nacer Chadli and Paulinho. With the managerial upheaval at so many Premier League title-contenders Levy believes his club have never had a better shot at winning the Premier League, and he’s desperate for Bale to buy into that.
