Video: Man Utd old boy Gary Neville calls Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher a burglar
The first Monday Night Football of the season was certainly not short on banter, or even the occasional piece of scousist humour.
Debutant Jamie Carragher was, in the modern parlance, owned by Gary Neville, who compared him to a burglar.
Neville was analysing Robin Van Persie’s movement across the opposition backline and said he was “like a burglar in your house and you don’t know what room he’s in”.
Liverpool great Carra spotted on opportunity for a cheap laugh at his old rival’s expense and quipped: “You’d be under the bed.”
But Neville was back, quick as a flash, to put Carragher down and further promote the stereotype that all scousers are robbing so-and-sos.
“You’d be the burglar,” he said.
