Arsenal chairman Chips Keswick promises more big spending
Arsenal are preparing to follow the Mesut Ozil signing by splashing the cash again, according to their new chairman.
Chips Keswick, who became the Gunners’ chairman in June in an appointment that ruined search engine optimisation for Cumbrian take-away businesses, said that Arsene Wenger will be given cash to spend on strengthening his squad even further.
In a statement, he said: “With the Ozil transfer I believe we have made a significant statement and when Arsene decides the time is right to invest again, Stan Kroenke, myself and the rest of the board will be delighted to support him.”
And Gunners fans are to be left in no uncertain terms that the until recently under-fire Kroenke is, in fact, their hero.
Keswick added: “We have a controlling owner in Stan Kroenke and a Board which is united in our resolve to keep Arsenal Football Club at the pinnacle of the game both here and in Europe.”
