Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers: ‘Luis Suarez ran himself into the ground’
Brendan Rodgers praised Luis Suarez’s performances as he returned to the Liverpool team from his 10-match biting ban.
The Reds boss was pleased with what he saw, and he is expecting even more from the Uruguay international in the coming weeks.
Rodgers said: “I thought he was excellent.
“I thought, considering he’s been out for such a long time he ran himself into the ground and you could see that he’s always a threat.
“He puts defenders on the back foot. He had a couple of wee twists and turns that looked like he was going to get in and I think obviously as he goes on, he’ll get a wee bit sharper.
“Overall he can be really pleased and I was really happy for him as his contribution was brilliant.”
