Liverpool set to move for Derby starlet Will Hughes in January
Liverpool are being linked with a £6m move for Derby County wonderkid Will Hughes.
The England Under-21 international is known to have a number of Premier League suitors, and Brendan Rodgers’ side were tipped to sign the 18-year-old over the summer.
Despite holding talks with the Rams about a possible deal, the transfer never materialised. But Rodgers wants to revisit the situation in January, reports the Metro.
Scout Barry Hunter will continue to monitor midfielder Hughes until the transfer window reopens.
The Reds could use a partnership agreement, which would see several of their youngsters move to Pride Park on loan over coming seasons, to help them beat the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal to Hughes’ signature.
The player’s current contract runs until 2016.
