Man Utd boss David Moyes ‘shocked’ by Man City defeat
David Moyes has admitted he was shocked by that nature of Manchester United’s 4-1 defeat to Manchester City in Sunday’s derby match.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s Capital One Cup game against Liverpool, Moyes said he had put the City loss behind him.
He said: “Well it’s gone now so I can’t do anything about it. Moved on and get ready for the next game.
Asked if the result had shocked him, he added: “Yes, it did.
“When you’re a football manager for the length of time I’ve been you’re always going to have shocks. I’ve had lots and I’ve got no doubt there will be more in the future.
“That’s the way football is.”
Moyes said that it was good for United to have another big match, the Liverpool game, in which to make amends.
He continued: “Well, I think to get back on and play again is best way – you can’t dwell too long on it. So I’m looking forward to getting the next game started and hopefully trying to win.
“I’m still getting to know all the players here. And I’ve had a chance to get a few more of them this week. And hopefully we’ll show what we can do.
“I think it’s always a big game when you play any cup tie. I think when you play Liverpool, which is a big rivalry, against Manchester United, it could take on a bigger significance than people would expect. But in the end of the day it’s another game and you take the next game that comes.”
