Metro newspaper advertises Spurs vs Chelsea two days after it was played
It seems the ‘news’ aspect of a newspaper need not extend to the advertising.
Today’s Metro featured an advert from BT Sport promoting the game between Tottenham and Chelsea which, as we all know, was played two days ago.
The only question is was it a total balls-up or a stroke of marketing genius?
Yes, it makes both brands looks fairly incompetent, but it means that the BT Sport advert will be seen by hundreds of thousands more people than would have seen it if it had been published before the match.
