Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye went off Arsenal move after hearing audio saying he would be a reserve
I'm told Mike Ashley let Cabaye listen to phone negotiations last week + he heard Arsenal say: "25 million a lot for a reserve" #moodchanger

Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye reportedly decided against a move to Arsenal after owner Mike Ashley played a recording of Arsenal’s negotiators saying he would be a reserve for them.
Ashley is said to have taped his discussions with the Gunners.
According to journalist James Pearce, he later played the French midfielder audio of an Arsenal negotiator saying “£25 million is a lot for a reserve”.
Suddenly Cabaye wasn’t so keen on a move to the Emirates.
Very Bond villain-esque, Mr Ashley.
