Tottenham could beat Arsenal and West Ham to Ciprian Marica signing
Spurs are set to pip Premier League rivals Arsenal and West Ham to the signing of free agent Ciprian Marica.
The Romania international appeared to be free to choose between acting as backup to Olivier Giroud at the Gunners or leading the line for the Hammers in Andy Carroll’s absence.
But the Sunday People reports that Tottenham are now favourites to sign the former Schalke hitman.
The 28-year-old was released by the Bundesliga side at the end of last season. Now he’s being tipped to snub Arsenal and West Ham to sign a £60,000-a-week deal at White Hart Lane.
The striker would be a replacement for £9.3m Emmanuel Adebayor, who has been frozen out by manager Andre Villas Boas and is now training with the youth team.
