Video: Chelsea’s Frank Lampard waiting to hear if he will earn his 100th England cap
Chelsea veteran Frank Lampard says he hasn’t been told yet whether he will win his 100th cap for England in tomorrow’s World Cup qualifier against Ukraine.
The 35-year-old is set for the milestone it once appeared he might fall just short of reaching.
Asked if manager Roy Hodgson had told him whether he would be involved, he said: “No, he hasn’t actually, so I’m just waiting and trying to prepare like always.
“I’ll be proud if I start or get on at any stage because 100 is a long-time, and it’s been a particularly long time for me.
“So, I just hope to be involved on a personal note, but the main thing is to get a result. It wouldn’t be enjoyable for me to get to 100 and then not get the result so we’ve got to do it the right way.”
