Video: Man Utd’s Patrice Evra said he was sick before his first Man City clash
Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra has admitted that he threw up before his first Manchester derby.
Speaking ahead of this afternoon’s derby, Evra said pre-match nerves coupled with an early kick-off time made him sick before the game.
But he kept it a secret from Sir Alex Ferguson, fearing the then United boss would think he wasn’t up for the game.
The Frenchman said: “I remember I was never playing at 12pm all my life and before the game I was sick.
“But I was afraid to say that to the boss because he will think maybe I don’t want to play for Manchester United.”
