Liverpool and Man Utd ‘will activate Arda Turan’s £33m release clause’ in January
Liverpool and Manchester United will both activate a £33m release clause in Arda Turan’s Atletico Madrid contract in January.
According to reports in the Turkish schemer’s homeland, both Premier League sides want to sign him when the transfer window reopens.
Both sides are said to have scouted the 26-year-old – who can play on the flanks or behind a striker – in La Liga action. David Moyes and Brendan Rodgers reportedly believe the former Galatasaray man can improve the attacking threat of their respective squads.
Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut has previously indicated that his client wants to make a move to England – and that Liverpool and United are both interested.
He said: “A destination in the Premier League would be to the liking of the player and I can confirm there are clubs interested, like the two mentioned.
“He wants to work in England.”
Turan has three goals and five assists already this season.
