Grass Geoff Shreeves tries to get a European ban for Chelsea’s Raul Meireles

Sky Sports reporter Geoff Shreeves did his best to endear himself to Chelsea fans by going on TV to announce that he had snitched on Raul Meireles to UEFA.

The ex-Porto midfielder had received a warm welcome from the Benfica supporters. Shreeves said there were suggestions that Meireles had responded by making a gesture towards them.

He added: “I asked Uefa about it at half-time but they didn’t know anything about it, so he may have got away with it.”

Or, to look upon it from a different perspective, Geoff Shreeves takes it upon himself to report Raul Meireles to UEFA for making an abusive gesture.
