Video: Manchester City’s Mario Balotelli gagged during goal celebration (Italy 2-0 Republic of Ireland)

Italy star Mario Balotelli had to be shut up by team-mate Leonardo Bonucci after finding the net against the Republic of Ireland.

The Manchester City man had just launched into a rant in the general direction of the dugout when he was told in no uncertain terms to shut his Trapattoni.

The angry reaction to his goal was presumably aimed at Italy coach Cesare Prandelli, who had subbed him in the opening two games and then dropped him for last night’s match.

Bonucci wisely covered Balotelli’s mouth and offered some reassuring words into his ear.
