We can’t imagine that Giovanni Trapattoni would be able to use a mobile phone, but it appears that he is better with technology than man management.
Kevin Doyle has been a fixture in the Irish squad for seven years since making his debut, but he has been dropped from this week’s match against Sweden.
However, it was the manner of the omission that annoyed Doyle the most, as the Wolves striker revealed:
“I was very disappointed to come in after the game to a text message saying I wasn’t to travel to Ireland to join up with the squad.
“I thought I might get a phone call but it wasn’t to be and I haven’t spoken to the manager about it. I just have to get on with it.”
Given that Doyle is sat on the Wolves bench towards the bottom of the Championship perhaps it is no surprise, but it’s certainly a fall from grace for the forward.
