Montpellier slap €100m price tag on Arsenal target Remy Cabella
Arsenal appear to have been priced out of a move for Montpellier playmaker Remy Cabella after the French side announced a €100m (£85.4m) asking price.
The 23-year-old was reported to be high on Arsene Wenger’s wanted list for the summer transfer window, but Montpellier are not prepared to sell on the cheap (or even at a reasonable price, it seems).
Montpellier deputy chairmen Laurent Nicollin told RMC: “He is non-transferable. We try to anticipate and plan things, even in football, but it’s complicated.
“The desire of the club is to keep Remy – he was told and knows this. If a club arrives and offers 100m euros, it will be discussed though.”
The France under-21 international was a key player in Montpellier’s surprise Ligue 1 title victory in 2012. He played against the Gunners in this season’s Champions League.
