In Ireland, there is lots of grass, lots of potatoes, lots of Guinness and lots of supporters of both Manchester United and Liverpool.

It’s the latter factor that has turned Knock Airport into an unlikely battle ground for some Manc-Scouse banter.

The airport’s first-choice rendez-vous point is signposted as RVP 1.

This has prompted one Manchester United-supporting wag to add: “Gerrard 0.”
