Spurs star Gareth Bale ruled out of Wales friendly
Gareth Bale has pulled out of Wales’ match against the Republic of Ireland, the Football Association of Wales has confirmed.
The Tottenham winger trained on his own after meeting up with the rest of Wales squad in Newport yesterday.
Although fit to train, the 24-year-old is keen to protect the foot injury that he picked up almost a month ago.
He is still hoping to secure his move to Real Madrid before the close of the transfer window and does not want to aggravate his injury in a non-competitive international as he fears that could jeopardise his transfer.
Spurs have given Bale permission to remain with the squad and continue training but he will not play a part in Chris Coleman’s plans for the match itself.
