Liverpool open talks with Porto over Juan Iturbe signing
Liverpool have reportedly made an approach to Porto about signing winger Juan Iturbe this summer.
The 20-year-old Argentine starlet has been in outstanding form on loan at Serie A side Hellas Verona this season.
He has scored five goals in 22 games for the Italian outfit, who are keen to keep him on a permanent basis.
But reports suggest that the Reds are attempting to hijack that by opening talks with his parent club.
Brendan Rodgers was first linked with interest in Iturbe last November and is now stepping up his attempts to sign the youngster.
Liverpool are said to have contacted Porto on Tuesday to discuss a possible fee. He is rated at around £15m and the Reds are unlikely to drive a hard bargain having seen repeated deals for wingers collapse in recent transfer windows.
Rodgers has missed out on signing the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mohamed Salah and Yevhen Konoplyanka and is keen to add another attacker to his squad.
Itrube is comfortable on the flank or up front. He is a pacy and clever player who weighs in with his fair share of goals.
