Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City still have hope over Marco Reus as Real deal denied
Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City still have hope over landing in-demand Marco Reus after reports of his deal to Real Madrid was rejected by Dortmund and his agent.
According to Spanish online newspaper El Confidencial, two Madrid officials flew to Germany and met Reus’ representatives before the New Year to thrash out a deal.
Real agreed to pay the £20m release clause that kicks in next summer with a bumper five year deal said to have been agreed.
But Reus’ agent has rubbished those reports to Bild, claiming “it has no sense”.
And now Dortmund’s chief executive, Hans-Joachim Watzke, has added: “He has not signed any agreement with anybody. Reus will decide where he goes on his own. If he decides to invoke his clause, there is nothing we can do about it.”
