In recent years, including his stint as England’s number one, James did plenty to repair his reputation. But it was back to old tricks for the Bristol City keeper in last night’s defeat to Watford.

The former Liverpool man somehow managed a ridiculous punch over his own head and into his net – from the edge of the box.
