OTP’s Howard the Psychic Duck predicts… England v Sweden
With Paul the Octopus sadly passing away just months after successfully predicting the results of World Cup 2010, a whole new breed of charlatans have attempted to take his visionary mantle for Euro 2012.
Nicholas the Llama incorrectly went for an England win against France and Citta the Elephant exposed herself as a fraud after predicting a win for Poland against Greece. Now there is a new kid in town and he comes with OTP’s full backing. Presenting… Howard the Psychic Duck.
We’ve had Howard for quite a few years now and in that time he has been an inanimate companion in our bubble baths. His main duties have involved helping to wash away the shame of another abysmal England campaign every couple of years.
But the plastic-beaked clairvoyant came alive for the Three Lions opener against France, wedging himself between our draped St George’s flag and a half-eaten baguette left over from lunch. Howard had made his first prediction and he was right on the money. A draw indeed it was.
How could we have missed his talent all this time?
Howard also correctly predicted the EU bailout of the Spanish banks, but for now we believe he is best served at Euro 2012 before we make a packet on the stock market.
Check out the remarkable footage above to see Howard’s verdict for the England-Sweden game on Friday night. OTP fully expects our football-patched duck to become the face of the Euros and the key player in the sports betting market… just as long as he doesn’t lose his touch.
A l’orange: that’s all we’re saying, Howard.
