Arsenal could move for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez again in January
Arsenal are continuing to monitor Luis Suarez’s situation at Liverpool ahead of a possible swoop in January, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.
The Gunners were involved in a farcical pursuit of the Uruguay international this summer, which culminated in the infamous £40,000,001 bid aimed at activating a non-existent buy-out clause in Suarez’s contract.
Despite the £42.4m signing of Mesut Ozil on transfer deadline day, Wenger will be backed to bring in another big-money signing in January.
The Gunners’ hierarchy are aware that Wenger is still lacking a striker from his squad, with Olivier Giroud the only fit, establish out-and-out striker available to him. Having failed to bring Chelsea forward Demba Ba in on-loan earlier this week, they will bankroll a continuation of the club’s new big spending policy when the transfer window reopens.
And that is likely to mean another bid for Suarez.
