Manchester United players go to great lengths to avoid the Europa League

Manchester United’s appetite for the Europa League was demonstrated when Nani and Danny Welbeck turned up to the airport without their passports yesterday.

The pair had both left their identification at home and were left hanging around at the security area of Manchester Airport waiting for their passports to be delivered by a member of the club’s security team.

The missing documentation did arrive in time for the pair to make the flight to Amsterdam, dashing their hopes of staying at home with the likes of Dimitar Berbatov, Ryan Giggs and Patrice Evra.
