Kitman: Manchester United new 12/13 home kit revealed, looks like a table cloth

Manchester United have launched their new home kit… and it kinda looks like a table cloth.

The Premier League champions – for at least another day – have opted for a gingham pattern on the new shirt. The pattern is apparently a throwback to the fabric produced in Manchester’s mills in the mid-18th century.

The thing is, there was probably also a lot of typhoid in Manchester’s mills in the mid-18th century too, but that doesn’t mean it’s right to inflict either of them onto Premier League players.

The new kit was modelled by Rio Ferdinand, who resisted the urge to tie it up into a cute knot at the front.
