Arsenal prepare to swoop for Nuremberg striker Josip Drmic
Arsenal are set to shop in Germany again this summer – but this time Swiss striker Josip Drmic is their target, according to reports.
German tabloid Bild suggests that the Gunners are set to move for the 6ft 2in Nuremburg striker at the end of the season.
They have been linked with approaches for a host of big-name strikers including Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata in recent months, so mention of Drmic’s name might be a little underwhelming for Gooners.
The reports claim that Arsene Wenger has been watching Drmic’s progress for several month, with scouts filing regular reports on him. The feedback has been glowing so far.
Drmic, aged 21, has 11 goals in 23 Bundesliga games since his arrival from FC Zurich last summer.
He has now broken into the Switzerland national team, scoring twice in his first five caps.
The Gunners could face competition from Russia sides Zenit St Petersburg and Rubin Kazan in their efforts to sign the youngster.
