Wantaway Frenchman vows not to play for Kinnear again
Charles N’Zogbia has said he will go on strike until he is sold after Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear referred to him as “Insomnia” during a post-match interview with Sky Sports. While being interviewed by Alan Parry, Kinnear said: “Shay [Given] pulled out with a knee injury as did Insomnia . . . Insomnia . . . er, Charlie.”
N’Zogbia hit-back by saying he had played his last game for Kinnear. A statement released by the winger read: “First of all, I wish to apologise to the fans for wanting to leave the club. However, having been insulted by Joe Kinnear, I will never play for him again while he remains Newcastle manager.”
Kinnear has now accused the 22-year-old of using something trivial to secure a move away from St James’ Park. He said: ““Sadly, this just smacks of a desperate attempt to engineer a move away from Newcastle United. OK, I got a little tongue-tied — but if I had a pound for every time I’ve mispronounced a player’s name down the years, then I’d be a very wealthy man indeed.”
In other words, yes he got called insomnia but is there really any need to lose sleep over it?! Ho, ho. The offending mispronunciation is about 2mins 18 secs into the video above.
