6. Wolves – Sir Jack
Never has a board member, chairman or owner been held in such high regard at a football club as Sir Jack Hayward OBE is at Wolves. He helped resurrect the club in the late 1980s, taking over the club in the early 1990s and transforming the fortunes of the Molineux outfit. Born and bred in Wolverhampton, Sir Jack was one of the last of the football club owners who did it for the love of the club, town and the game. This documentary looks at the career of Sir Jack both at Wolves and outside of football, his incredible charity work and patriotic gestures right up to the present day and his incredible sale of the club he loved and invested millions in, for just £10. 4. The Greatest England Games 1920-1966
Footage of the England football team before 1966 is a hard thing to come by. Televisions were not readily available and matches were not generally shown live. Indeed, the World Cup in 1966 proved to be a turning point in appetite for football on television. This programme, presented by legendary commentator Barry Davies, takes you back to the 1920s and chronologically takes you on a journey of the England football team and the greatest matches that were played. British Pathe provide the news reels as we are treated to rarely seen footage of players such as Tommy Lawton, Stan Matthews and Duncan Edwards as well as being able to watch the emergence of the World Cup winning squad. 3. Aston Villa 1980-81 Commemorative DVD/Coin Collection
With, Mortimer, Morely, Cowans and Rimmer. Names held in the highest regard by fans young and old at Aston Villa. They are all members of the 1980-81 Championship-winning team. Led by manager Ron Saunders, they made a surprise assault on the league and – in dramatic fashion – ended the season victorious, winning the league using only 14 players: a modern day record. 2. Spurs Victories Over Arsenal
There are many London derbies over the season, but none as competitive and as anticipated as when the north London giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur go head-to-head. Over the last few years, Spurs have had the edge over their local rivals in this fixture and to celebrate this, the club have released for Christmas a collection of highlights of some of their victories over Arsenal dating back to 1970 and including the incredible 5-0 win in 1983, Gazza’s FA Cup semi-final from 1991 and the most recent incredible second-half comeback to win 3-2 at the Emirates.
