There isn’t much better than a really dreadful miss, and almost nothing better when it’s a Leeds United player.
Leeds may have comfortably beaten Southampton in the League Cup on Tuesday, but the match should be remembered for one of the worst misses we have ever seen.
Even manager Neil Warnock admitted as much: “I thought Luke Varney was excellent, despite the ‘miss of the century’, he didn’t let his head go down and I thought he was outstanding and because of that he brought Diouf more into the game”.
