Although he appears to have spent a large chunk of his lectures posting photos on Twitter, he has apparently managed to learn enough to order himself a slice of humble pair.
It appears Barton now appreciates just how difficult it is to prepare and run training sessions.
Yesterday, he wrote: “The 2nd hardest, most nerve wrecking day of my life. I apologise profusely to any coaches whose sessions I have ever criticised…
“At one stage it didn’t look likely but managed to come through with flying colours. Loads to be learned. The coaching road starts now…”
He also joked that he was considering sending his CV to Real Madrid.
