Chelsea striker Demba Ba in talks with Anzhi Makhachkala

Demba Ba is talking to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala as Jose Mourinho gets his Chelsea shake-up into full swing.

The former Newcastle striker, who only joined the Blues in January, is surplus to requirements since the Special One returned to Stamford Bridge.

With Mourinho hoping to add at least one big-name striker to his squad this summer, Ba will be allowed to leave.

The 28-year-old, who scored six times in 22 games for Chelsea, is believed to have rejected switches to West Brom and former club West Ham, so may now move away from the Premier League.

Mourinho is also keen to shift midfielder John Obi Mikel. A transfer to Turkish side Galatasaray seems the most likely outcome for the Nigeria international.
