Al-Qaeda wades in on Gareth Bale transfer with anti-semitic attack on Spurs

Al-Qaeda have become involved in the transfer rumours linking Gareth Bale with a switch to Real Madrid by launching an anti-semitic attack on Tottenham.

Reports in the Italian media claim that the leader of a Yemeni Al-Qaeda cell, Ahmed Al Dossari, has used Spurs’ negotiations with Real as an excuse for a rant about Jews.

He is said to have written a blog about the Bale transfer in which he claimed that Bale’s asking price was due to Jewish “greed”.

He apparently wrote: “Unscrupulous merchants. The Jews will be punished for their greed by the wrath of God and by the sound of arms.”

Spurs have a long-held association with the Jewish community in north London and that has been seized upon by Al Dossari.
