Tottenham manager Andre Villas Boas has praised Aston Villa counterpart Paul Lambert for successfully developing academy players into his first-team squad.
The Villa boss has made a point of nurturing young talent – both homegrown and bought from the lower leagues – during his time at the club. And that policy has won him to admiration of Villas Boas.
Speaking at his press conference ahead of tonight’s Capital One tie between the two clubs, the Portuguese manager said: “They have some wonderfully gifted footballers coming through, still learning and that’s why I value Paul Lambert’s work even more.
“The amount of players he has brought through is something remarkable, with results too.”
