Video: Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic scores against Southampton

We all knew that Stoke were struggling for goals this season, but we didn’t expect that goalkeeper Asmir Begovic would be the source when they did arrive.

He gave the Potters an early lead in today’s game against Southampton with this strike after just 12 seconds.

The Bosnian keeper’s lumped clearance from his own penalty area caught the wind and then got a wicked bounce over Saints keeper Artur Boruc.

Begovic didn’t even celebrate, presumably out of respect for his fellow member of the goalkeepers’ union.
