Chelsea will make a part-exchange bid for Schalke wonderkid Julian Draxler in January, according to reports in Germany.
Bild claims that the Blues will offer cash plus wantaway winger Kevin De Bruyne in the hope of securing the highly-rated 20-year-old midfielder.
The reports suggest that Jose Mourinho is stepping up his long held interest in Draxler, while Schalke are keen to beat Bundesliga rivals like Wolfsburg to secure De Bruyne’s signature.
Schalke’s general manager Horst Heldt said: “Kevin De Bruyne is a class player who is interesting for many clubs.
“The fact that a number of clubs are in the hunt for Julian Draxler is still the case.”
The Blues would have to stump up a “double-digit” million Euro fee in addition to parting company with the De Bruyne, according to Bild.
