1. The SAS partnership is back. It was two for Luis Suarez and one for Daniel Sturridge as the latter returned from his injury layoff against Stoke.

2. Referee Mike Jones clearly doesn’t appreciate just how rarely a Cheick Tiote screamer comes along.

3. It’s all sunny at Old Trafford when Fergie gives the game a miss.

4. Talking of misses, thanks to Crystal Palace’s Jason Puncheon for providing one of the worst penalties in Premier League history. At least he hadn’t set himself up for a fall…

5. A Chelsea striker on the scoresheet and Fernando Torres scoring a solo goal. It was all very retro as the Blues beat Hull on Saturday.

6. It was Happy Hammers at Fulham. Sam Allardyce has suddenly got any number of strikers at his disposal and his side recorded a vital win over Cardiff. What a difference a few days can make.

7. If that was his last Tottenham outing, Jermain Defoe signed off in typical goalscoring fashion. Will he be able to keep up the fitting farewells if Tim Sherwood continues to pick him before he departs for Toronto in February?

8. Sunderland love it when a training ground set-piece comes together. Their game against Fulham was won with the dead-ball.

9. Whatever Roberto Martinez is doing to Gareth Barry, he should keep doing. Goodbye sideways passes, hello 20-yard screamers.

10. Gaston Ramirez can’t believe his bad luck. The one time he did something worth a TV camera close-up and he’s turned up wit cornrows.
