The Anfield side have bid £25m for Lallana, but the Cherries are due to receive 25 per cent of any transfer fee received for their former youth team player.
That has proved a stumbling block for the deal, with Saints keen to ensure they pocket at least £20m from their captain’s sale after Bournemouth’s cut and Liverpool reluctant to offer any more.
With Lallana, aged 26, known to be keen to make the move, the announcement of the friendly has sparked rumours that the potentially money-spinning game for Bournemouth might be in exchange for them accepting a reduced percentage of the sell-on fee.
