Brazil 2014 kicked off last night with the hosts beating Croatia 3-1 in Sao Paulo. Neymar scored twice, with every young Brazilian now reenacting his first goal on the beaches and streets, slicing a shot past the helpless keeper to draw the Selecao level. This wonderful imagination and childish innocence is so well encapsulated by Samsung’s new advert, ‘I See Your Dreams’, with the footballing world seen through the eyes of a child’s ball.
It is not just in Brazil that childish imagination runs riot, as the video shows young football fans from all walks of life enjoying their time with one of their very best friends; who rolls happily along with them, giving endless pleasure and dreams of grandeur that is exponentially heightened by the events in Brazil this summer.
Brazil 2014 is certainly the greatest football tournament on the planet, but none can deny the magic of the imagination, and no matter where they are, children can conjure up the most vibrant, brilliant scenarios, and while generally far away from reality, for a lucky few, these dreams will come to pass, and the likes of Neymar will soon be taking young dreamers under their wings, preparing them for future international tournaments.
From the beaches of South America, to the crisp lawn of a French villa; children everywhere have one thing in common this summer; a love for football, and judging by the video, their precious footballs are rather fond of them.
