Fulham have sacked manager Felix Magath after seven months in charge.

The 61-year-old took over at Craven Cottage in February following the sackings of both Martin Jol and Rene Meulensteen earlier last season.

But Magath could not save the Cottagers from relegation and they are currenttly bottom of the Championship, with just one point from their first seven games.

Fulham chairman Shahid Khan said: “This is an unfortunate but necessary change.

“I am doing what I feel is right and needed for Fulham, for today as well as tomorrow.”

Kit Symons has been appointed as caretaker manager.
