When Roy Keane was appointed as Aston Villa assistant manager, a lot of questions were asked about whether he was there to assist or succeed Paul Lambert.

While the arrangement seems to be working very well so far, Lambert clearly feels his authority is in danger of being undermined by Keano’s spectacular facial hair.

The Scot is playing a game of catch-up as he grows his own beard to reassert his authority.
