Ipswich defender Tyrone Mings is a January transfer target for Arsenal, according to reports.

The 21-year-old is the Tractor Boys’ starting left-back this season following the sale of Aaron Cresswell to West Ham during the summer.

His starring performances in the opening stages of the campaign have seen him named Championship Player of the Month for September and have convinced the Gunners to make their move, claims talkSPORT.

Crystal Palace were linked with a move for the youngster during the summer, but his stock has now risen sufficiently for clubs at the top end of the table to be giving serious consideration to a bid for him.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen to stengthen across his back-line.

But Ipswich counterpart Mick McCarthy is hopeful that he can convince Mings to stay at Portman Road for now.
