Spurs close to landing Saints chief scout Paul Mitchell raising doubts over Franco Baldini
Tottenham are reportedly closing in on landing Mauricio Pochettino’s former scout at Southampton Paul Mitchell.
The Spurs boss worked alongside the Saints’ Head of recruitment at St Mary’s before leaving for north London in the summer.
And according to the Mirror, Mitchell has now handed in his notice at Southampton following interest from Tottenham and is expected to join the Pochettino staff as head of recruitment shortly.
Mitchell’s arrival will cast further doubt on the future of Technical Director Franco Baldini, who has been accused of making a series of poor transfer decisions during the last three transfer windows.
Spurs, who lost to Stoke before the international break, will now make a renewed attempt in January to sign another Southampton employee in Jay Rodriguez.
