Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Sunderland have been given a boost in their attempts to sign Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo after Arsene Wenger publicly confirmed that he wants the youngster to join a Premier League club on loan.
The 21-year-old has also been linked with loan moves back to his native France, with Bordeaux reportedly close to tying up a deal and Lorient also keen.
But Wenger confirmed that he wants Sanogo to stay in England.
He said: “I would prefer him to go to a Premier League club.
“He is a goal scorer, he’s not frightened and a guy who is naturally aggressive.”
