A staggering three quarters of Liverpool fans believe that Brendan Rodgers should be sacked after a poor season, according to a poll conducted by the Mirror.
The Reds campaign finished in embarrassing fashion after being thrashed 6-1 by Stoke City at the weekend with the Northern Irish boss coming under fire for the poor showing.
Speaking after the game Rodgers said he would leave the club without any hesitation if the owners asked him to go.
Of the 19,000 people who voted in the poll, 14,500 (76.3 per cent) said Rodgers should be shown the door while only 4,500 (23.7 per cent) felt he should stay.
The Reds have suffered a series of disappointments this season that saw them go out in the group stages of the Champions League, finishing sixth in the Premier League and failing to lift a trophy despite getting to two semi-finals.
The miserable campaign has also been blighted by a number of off-field issues, including the Raheem Sterling saga and Steven Gerrard’s departure.
