Liverpool striker Fabio Borini and Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj could both be on their way to Sunderland, according to The Sun journalist Dan King.

A deal to take Borini back to the Stadium of Light on loan is said to be all but done.

The Italian striker, aged 24, spent the 2013/14 campaign with the Black Cats. He has struggled to make an impression since returning to Anfield and has now been frozen out completely by manager Brendan Rodgers.

The former Chelsea, Swansea City and Roma man scored 10 goals in 40 games in all competitions during his last stint on Wearside.

A loan deal for Januzaj is not quite as close but remains likely.

The 20-year-old Belgium international will reportedly be shipped out by Louis van Gaal if, as expected, United secure the signing of Barcelona winger Pedro.

Once considered the future of United’s team, Januzaj has fallen out of favour during Van Gaal’s time in charge.
